Left In the Dust
Left In the Dust is a YA mystery thriller novel that tells over the story of two teenage siblings and how they have chosen to deal with the swarm of treachery and betrayal that's constantly befalling upon them. Growing up in a small home in San Francisco, California, Oliver and Kate Emerson have had a great deal of obstacles in which they've had to overcome early on in their childhoods. Abandoned by their father at extremely young ages, Oliver and Kate were quickly able to discover the brutality of betrayal. They had to learn how to live with and entertain themselves while hardly getting the opportunity to spend any quality time with their mother, who immediately took over as the sole financial provider of the family, following the departure of their despised father. In order to carry on amidst the towering hurdles blocking their paths, Oliver and Kate started to run. Run away from the everlasting stream of lies and deceptions that are constantly being thrown their way. Run away from a world full of frauds and thieves who will do just about anything to obtain that which they desire. Run away from any and all challenges which they may encounter upon their journeys, while experiencing the ultimate freedom in which they so deserve. When their father had walked out on them long ago, Oliver vowed it was the last time he'd be betrayed by someone so close to his heart. Unfortunately, this was one vow he simply couldn’t keep. Waking up late for school one day, Kate and Oliver discover a problem they can't run away from, and they'll go to the ends of the earth in order to rescue that which was taken from them. Even if that means laying their very lives on the line.
