Marguerite & the Moon Man: A Novel

In this quirky, darkly humorous romcom novel by internationally acclaimed bestselling author Randall Silvis, smalltown beauty Marguerite Baptiste has been lied to once too many times by her married lover, local politician Bud Martin. Looking down the barrel of the big 3-0 and seeking revenge, Marguerite dupes the town's maverick sculptor, Eddie Childs, into helping her to murder Bud. But their plans go hopelessly awry when Bud's horny teenage daughter Lorelei sets her sights on Eddie. The ensemble cast of this sexy dramedy is further rounded out, and the plot further complicated, by sex-starved Deputy Dennis Brown, who has designs on Lorelei, and by the frustrated Father Tantaluski, whose vows of celibacy are straining his sanity, and by Bud Martin's long-suffering wife Peg, plus the morbidly obese Magistrate, the nomadic shaman Simon Six Trees, and beleaguered Sheriff John Rankin, who valiantly but futilely attempts to keep a lid on the anarchy.

Based on the author's short story “A Walk in the Moonlight” from his Drue Heinz Literature Prize-winning story collection, The Luckiest Man in the World, Marguerite & the Moon Man maintains the same tone as the original story, which Publishers Weekly praised as “a hilarious farrago of desire.”
