Happy Again
Getting without earning makes you lazy and ungrateful. That was what Gramps always said. He believed it so much he decided to put it into action in his will. His family would have to earn their inheritance, no freebies. He painstakingly made a plan for each one of his family members, picking what they needed to work on the most. But how would they take it when they found out? No doubt some of them won't be happy. But if they want their inheritance, they'll just have to suck it up and do it anyway. They weren't getting it for nothing. She's suffered a lot over the years. She lost her husband young, raised her two kids alone, then watched as her son made the choice to follow in his father's footsteps. Joining the Marines is a noble thing to do, but losing her husband was hard enough. She almost lost her son to the same fate, but he was miraculously found alive. But it wasn't over, he was hunted by those monsters, not once but twice. And they came after her too that second time. It left her with big scars to her psyche. Then there's Jake, he's been a really good friend. He's supported and helped her a lot through the last couple years. But is friendship enough? The guilt of loving another is killing her, but oh how she wants that in her life again. She's lonely, and Jake's such a wonderful person. What should she do? And when her family starts falling apart at the seams, can she help fix it?
