This book is a compilation of the email letters written by Susan Grant Akyurt, an American grandmother living in Saudi Arabia, to her family over a period of eighteen months, from January, 2005, until June, 2006. The compilation was Susan's therapy after her last daughter was married and went to live in the United States. Every daughter's leaving was a heart-wrenching jolt for Susan, and the last departure left her and Mehmet with an empty house that could be filled only with plenty of hard work.
