Dark Protector

"Where do I fit in? Dark-haired while the rest of her family was blonde, sixteen-year-old Raisa had always felt closer to her Yarite friends. At least until a forced engagement. a missed meeting, and a misunderstanding changed everything. Overnight her gang declared her outlaw and target. While running for her life, Raisa found herself compelled to rescue Vani, a girl held in secret slavery to a senile wizard. The two girls flee through caves and into the deadly SpiderTaa forest to seek a new life. But there are other forces beyond slavers and the Yarites at work. When the SpiderTaa are attacked by demons, a cave-in traps the children and many of Raisa's adopted people and many are struck by sudden amnesia. Can Raisa and Vani save them from complete annihilation?-- p. 4 of cover.
