Lady Arabella Gordon flees the claustrophobic nature of Regency London for the wilds of Cornwall. She is also leaving behind the long line of suitors intent on marrying the richest heiress of the period. She arrives at Averington Manor intent on taking a repairing lease in coastal Cornwall. That is, until she meets Lord Henry Reston, the owner. He is everything that the London dandies are not, but is seemingly uninterested in matrimony or her large fortune. Meanwhile, in 2019 Cornwall, Lord Christian Reston has undertaken the maintenance of the seven-hundred-year-old Averington Manor and is interested in writing a history of his legendary ancestors. He is intrigued by author Kiernan Gordon and believes that she is the one to do the story justice. She seems to know more about his ancestors than he and she seems to discover these facts in her dreams. Will these 21st century descendants be struck by Cupid's arrow or have similar adventures to those of their ancestors?
