Daydreamer
The Devonians were passengers on an Earth-bound transport from deep space. An unfortunate pirate raid caused them to have to abandon ship. Their transmitters malfunctioned and no distress signals were sent. Now, the original settlers have carved out a primitive society on the planet they call Devonia. These stories highlight various children in the colony and the struggles and enjoyments they find in their beautiful dangerous world. Joshua's family is busy planting squash. Soon they are going to Meeting. Joshua can't wait! But his habit is to forget the task at hand and let his mind wander. His mother and little brother wait for him to finish so they can go. But did he finish his task or daydream the time away? A storm comes and waters the ground. Joshua finds that his little seedlings have a story to tell.
