The Bay City Rollers are a pop band from Edinburgh, Scotland, UK, which experienced massive popularity during the mid-1970s. The British Hit Singles and Albums observed that they were "tartan teen sensations from Edinburgh, the first of many acts heralded as the 'biggest group since the Beatles' and one of the most screamed-at teeny-bopper acts of the 1970s". For a brief, but intense period of "Rollermania", they were worldwide teen idols. The Bay City Rollers sold 120 million records.
