Kneel
Virginia Lee Bernal's latest poetry collection, Kneel, serves as running commentary on her 2023 and as a road map on how a poet heals from heartbreak.
This collection includes 200 poems all written within a calendar year. Over half have never been posted to her Instagram page. Some rhyme, some are freeform, but all utilize her favorite "gut punch" tactic. Each one has a line that will leave you walking away with a reminder: There's no right way to handle heartbreak.
More cohesive and sophisticated than her debut collection, Kneel is about finding your voice and learning to stand on your own two feet. Even when you don't want to do anything of the sort.
