Behind Closed Doors

The poems in this book are meant to be read by someone who does self-mutilation. There are lots of (pre) judgments on this phenomenon. Many people do not know what it is, or rather, what pushes people to do this. Their feelings and thoughts have been bundled up in this book. This book is intended for those who want to gain more understanding about it and for people themselves who do self-mutilation. It is for them to know that they are not alone. Ilona Hesterwas born in Drenthe in 1987, but later grew up in Groningen. Ilona has been impressed with music, reading and writing since childhood. When she was a small child, she even wrote stories and poems inspired by other children's stories. Behind Closed Doors is the first book released by Ilona. www.ilonahester.nl
