Holy Bible: English Dort Version: The EDV in One Volume

First was published The Dordrecht Bible Commentary: Ordered by the Synod of Dort 1618 According to the Th. Haak 1657 Commissioned by the Westminster Assembly 1645, Vols. I-VI (Otsego: North Star Ministry Press LLC, 2019-2020). This was followed by The English Dort Version (EDV), Vols. I-II (Otsego: Nsmpress, 2020) without the running commentary, but still containing study materials.

By popular demand, here the EDV appears in just one volume, Scripture alone (with fresh outlines), delivering the same historic 1657 English translation of the Dort Bible to Bible students, pastors and scholars of the church in the 21st Century. Here discover God’s Word translated with the highest degree of accuracy possible by men fully qualified and uncompromisingly committed to its infallible truth, the Whole Counsel of God. Without a doubt, the English Dort Version stands with the Genevan Bible and the King James Version on equal, even greater, footing. The EDV is for the hearty student of the Bible. In other words, a literal translation from the original languages, and not for those with an appetite for dynamic equivalence or paraphrases of Scripture.

The 17th Century was a Golden Age, even a Further Reformation, for the universal church. Joined tightly with the 16th Century Reformation, this entire epoch marked a mountain-top in the history of the church and the world. And at the pinnacle of this mountain one discovers the Great Synod of Dort, as well as The Westminster Assembly, united not only by their confessional standards but also by this tried and true Bible translation guided by the finger of divine providence.
