New Beginnings
Jeff Thompson, a wealthy political lobbyist, is frustrated with his career. There seems to be no point to his work because all of his accomplishments are negated by conflicting politicians and a system that has forgotten its people.
Early one morning while trying to relax on a beach in Southern California, an unusually dressed stranger approaches him seeking directions, and, to Jeff's surprise, he introduces himself as George Washington.
Jeff is dubious, but he helps the old fellow. With help from a friend, along with a DNA sample, Jeff confirms that his houseguest is indeed the first president of the United States. This sets into motion a series of events that has Jeff and George battling criminals and organized crime and dodging special agents from Homeland Security, which culmiates in a march of two million people to the capital to speak to the president.
The father of our country is not at all pleased with the way America has strayed from its original design and when he gets to Washington...he's going to ask why.
New Beginnings proves to be a thought-provoking read that deftly explores causality, history, government, technology, and time travel in a unique and provocative way.
