Under Pressure
When you hear the word “pressure” does it make you nervous? Do you want to tuck your tail and hide? Does it take you to a familiar place of anxiety, worry, failure, or fear? If you answered yes, just know you are not alone. Not many years ago I was right where you are. I was crumbling under the pressure of my life; past present and future. I had to take a stand against who I used to be, in order to become who I am today, and it didn’t happen without going through pressure. Pressure is so often looked at as a bad thing, most likely because it hurts. I can admit, it is a tad bit painful, however, the end result is always beautiful. Pressure is defined as; to force or to squeeze. Doesn’t it feel like life is literally forcing you in a certain direction sometimes? You have no idea as to why you keep being directed this way, yet all roads lead this way. It is often not one of those “fun” decisions, as it usually comes with changes in behavioral patterns, new skillsets, sacrifice, and loss of relationships you thought were never going to end. All of this is just a little bit of pressure, but why do we need it? Although it hurts, it's necessary for your next level of purpose. The new level you have been striving for is on the other side of this pressure. That new body you want? Pressure. That new relationship you dream of every day? Pressure. That business venture? Pressure! Think of it this way, when you see a beautiful butterfly, do you stop to think about the pressure the caterpillar had to go through? Of course not! You just behold the beauty of what it became AFTER it made it out of its season of pressure, better known as the cocoon. When was the last time you watched the process of how diamonds are made? Diamonds are put under intense heat and pressure in order to make, mold, and shape the diamond. Yes, YOU are that butterfly and that diamond. What will your pressure produce? Everything old must be PRESSED out of you so that the new you can emerge! In her book, Under Pressure, Lyndsey walks you through some of her greatest moments of pressure, how she pressed through and came out on the winning side. She also equips you with everyday tools that you can use while you go through your season of pressure. Are you ready to see what purpose your pressure will produce?
