Pucking Possessive: A Dark-ish College Romance (Kings of Castlebrook)

London Snow

5 1 rating · 1 review on Book Nook

Callum Grey has been obsessed with Lilac Fairbanks for as long as he can remember. She’s the one girl he can’t have because she's his best friend’s little sister, but he’ll do anything to keep her safe. His bad-boy reputation is meant to deceive everyone, because he’s been protecting her in secret all along.

One reckless dare takes a deadly turn when Callum and Lilac break into the mansion on the cliffs and witness a murder that puts a target on them. With everyone pointing fingers, Lilac’s parents try to leverage the scandal to trap her in a marriage with a guy who makes her skin crawl. Callum offers her a way out: a public proposal that will create a distraction from the night on the cliffs and ruin her mother’s plans in one stroke.

Agreeing to a fake engagement comes with a price. Callum has rules: they’ll act like a real couple, whether they’re in public or not. Lilac quickly discovers that her first crush who taught her how to skate all those years ago has a new favorite game that involves a mask and chasing her through the graveyard. When their friends begin turning up dead, Lilac quickly realizes that this engagement is anything but fake to Callum, and there isn’t anyone he wouldn’t cross to protect her.

Kings of Castlebrook are elite hockey legacies born to cause trouble on and off the ice. Pucking Possessive is a 70k standalone, but there will be a few more books in this world featuring other couples. Please read Pucking Possessive with caution as it contains dark themes, and please note that this book is not enemies to lovers and there is no malice/darkness between the main characters.

<div>Thank you to The Smuthood and London Snow for this arc in exchange for an honest review&nbsp; Callum has been in love with Lilac for years but since he’s her brother’s best friend he can’t have her. Callum always protects Lilac in every situation. Well Callum found out Lilac’s parents are trying to force her into an arranged marriage and he’s not having it. There’s no way anyone else is having her but Callum.&nbsp; I love that Callum calls Lilac “Bambi” and Lilac calls Callum “Cowboy”. A good nickname is everything to me. The way Callum has ruined every date she’s ever been invited on is great. It’s cute how Lilac wears Callum’s hoodie whenever she knows she won’t see him. The haunted mansion scene was crazy. I wasn’t expecting that at all. Lilac’s date went as well as expected. Callum showing up was perfection. I did enjoy the proposal. The ending was epic. This is a very emotional book. I enjoyed every second of it.</div>
