Tick Tock

Tick Tock is a modern twist on a traditional story, Hickory Dickory Dock. Tick Tock is all about a mouse and a clock. Inside the clock, a little Mouse lives and has a surreal reality. With every Tick and Tock, little Mouse moves through the colorful clock and sees shape’s everywhere he goes. The fun rhyming limerick tells the story. Dawn used multimedia to create the illustrations: paint, printmaking, marker and colored pencil. The large gears in the clock are displayed artfully on each page. This book is a teaching book about shapes, colors and numbers. Children can count the numbers around the clock. Each page has a different shape and colored rendered. After reading the story, an adult can go back through the story to ask children shapes, colors and numbers. This is a perfect picture book for children ages 2 to 5.
