Blood and Hemlock

Nineteen year-old Aster is a skilled pickpocket, an orphan, and a vampire, forced to live in the shadows as vampire slayers patrol the streets. Haunted by the memory of his family's murder, he vows to find the killer, the same vampire who turned him. When he receives a mysterious invitation to Hemlock Academy for vampire slayers, the academy's tempting resources lure him in despite the risk. Within the walls of Hemlock, Aster's life becomes entangled with his handsome roommate, Sage, the son of a vampire-loathing politician. As Aster's rivalry with Sage shifts into unexpected attraction, it becomes harder for Aster to hide his secret.
