Ugly Thoughts: Ugly Thoughts

A book of poetry. A series of brief moments that have occurred over a very long period of time, and countless revisions and reconsiderations to become what they are today. The discovery of an idea, of a moment that either sparks and vanishes or lingers on has always been a passion. To find within just a few lines of prose, an image of some of the worst and best thoughts racing through the mind. To connect with others through a shared emotion. These are the things that poetry is best at, at drawing an image in ones mind from how it makes you feel; whether happiness, sadness, fear or anger. Poetry allows you to tap into deeply rooted beliefs and biases that surprise you, and sometimes sicken you. All the things a good story has, but captured within thirty seconds of reading; unless you read and reread the prose to figure out what about it affects you so deeply.
