Mach's Mission

D. W. Patterson

War and Peace The wormhole drive had changed society but it was limited in its reach and was becoming an obstacle to further exploration. There was only one person who could extend its reach safely and that was Elias Mach, its inventor. But that didn't stop others from trying and disastrously failing. In an ironic twist, Elias would have to pay for the others failures and the destruction they caused when powerful political forces would shift the blame to him. He would have to flee the law on a mission to clear his name or spend the rest of his days in prison or worse. And the worse came. A war started between rival factions of the powerful Artificial Intelligence's that managed the Earth. Elias and the rest of Centauri and Earth society were caught in the crossfire. Mach's Mission is a standalone sequel to Mach's Metric which detailed the invention of the wormhole drive. This is hard science fiction, old-school.
