Jermaine Solomon is a Caribbean vampire and one of an ancient brood of vampires of the sea. Jermaine can turn into a manta ray and he does so often as he loves the feel of gliding through the warm water alone. One day while on a swim, he realizes a woman is following him. He dives deeper hoping to get away from her, but she won't give up. When he realizes she's in trouble with her dive equipment, he has to help her. Shifting in front of her under water, he gives her air until they reach the surface and saves her life.Bethany Callen was an Olympian swimmer and an avid diver. She had to excel at something since her step-sisters had magical powers she didn't. She'd always been jealous that her witch sisters could do so many things that she couldn't. When she almost drowned and was saved by a manta ray who turned into a man right before her eyes, she couldn't believe it was true.
