Vir Lucis - Tale One in the Light Bringers Saga

The year is 28 BC. The Roman Republic stands on the edge of destiny. Whispers echo through marble halls and crowded forums-Gaius Octavian, the shrewd and unyielding Consul, seeks to crown himself Emperor. While Rome's legions conquer lands and crush enemies beyond its borders, a far more insidious threat festers from within-a shadow no sword can cut, and no legion can stop. As the Republic teeters between glory and ruin, one name rises from the ashes of war-Arenius Vesta. The son of a legendary general, Arenius carries more than his father's blood-he bears a power ancient and forgotten, one that could either save the Republic... or doom it forever. The fate of Rome now rests in his hands.
