Love, Mom
Parents today are told that parenthood is second-class work, and they're not doing it right anyway, so I thought it might be refreshing for those of us actually raising the children to hear something positive. These reflections are not unique to me. They are just sharing my ordinary feelings as an ordinary mother. But I have discovered that too many of us have learned to suppress or disregard those feelings. - and we and our children suffer as a result. We ordinary Moms and Dads are the heart and soul of our society. The contribution we make in raising healthy, happy children in stable families is not just valuable. It is irreplaceable! I believe that it is time for us to reaffirm our importance - as parents. Our children, and our society, could not survive without us. I hope that as you read and share with my family, you will feel again the wonder of the gift of parenthood.
