Callosity's Demise

Sofia Möller

One could say that for a very long time, my heart was callous. I felt no empathy towards others and possessed little to no sense of distinguishing right from wrong. To me, morality was a soup of doing whatever felt best. My compass seemed to be pointing north, south, east, and west, all at the same time. Jesus in His mercy did not leave me in that state but replaced my hard, stony, callous heart with a tender counterpart, that experiences conviction, seeks wisdom, and most of all, is in constant awe of its Creator. This collection is evidence of that transformation. It is divided into three parts; poems, prayers, and a small section detailing Jesus’ crucifixion and eventual resurrection. I tried my best to incorporate scripture into every poem, to magnify God’s wisdom; only wishing to accentuate it artistically. May God’s peace accompany us all while we make our journey through this land to which our souls are strangers. Let us hold fast to the hope of eternity and never forget God’s goodness toward His people and those who live under His mercy every day without even realizing it.
