Wizards, Wardrobes, & Halflings

What could Tolkien's Hobbits teach us about God? How about the Gospel according to Maze Runner or Harry Potter?

This book takes the magical, mythological, and bestselling works of famous speculative fiction series and teaches biblical lessons alongside the text of beloved stories. Drawing on nine different series, four different authors share their faith and insight using both Scripture and classic tales of the fantastic.

It's okay to geek out a little with us. Anachronistically, we wonder if John's glasses might've had tape on the middle; would Peter's pocket protector have gotten wet after walking on the Galilee? Jesus saves and rolls for half damage.

Visit the Old Testament with halflings and examine the New Testament through the wardrobe. Whether you're looking for the perfect nerdvotional or trying to impart biblical wisdom to readers who lean away from Scripture and more into popular speculative fiction, this book is right for you!

This Christian devotional book looks at some of the most well-loved stories in modern Sci-Fi and Fantasy series and also at some by upcoming SFF authors. In looking at characters, stories, and plots we can see many parallels to Scripture, morals and principles, and biblical characters. In telling stories that grapple with those concepts and topics we discover more and deeper truths about ourselves and about how we understand our faith.
