Great Brickhill Ex-Servicemen
About this Book This book has been created from documents and personal memories about Servicemen who have lived in the village of Great Brickhill, Buckinghamshire. Edited by an Ex- Serviceman David Marlow, the book is published by St Mary's Church Great Brickhill and it will receive any proceeds from book sales. This is an historical reference. It starts in about 1900 and the onset of World War One, progressing to World War Two and beyond into the Cold War period. More than fifty soldiers, sailors and airmen from the village of Great Brickhill have supported our Country in engagements up until this day. An interesting aspect of the more recent records, particularly those of Servicemen still with us, is to recount how their military life influenced what they did next. The book contains some interesting anecdotes. The introduction outlines how the records were put together and how some surviving personnel were interviewed. The stories have been validated and collated into this work with the help of a small army of contributors. The records speak for themselves; they are a testament to those who who have defended our shores in a selfless manner. It is our privilege to remember them and I hope this book goes some way to achieving that. David Marlow
