Sifting Through Sundays

Devie Demus Perry

Sunday mornings. Bagels, coffee, and church bells. Quiet. Reflective. Inspirational. The aura and the essence of God. Sifting Through Sundays is a poetic journey that chronicles my life as an African-American female enduring life's challenges, trials, tribulations, failures, and successes, many of which caused me to reevaluate and reexamine my deep beliefs, values, and faith. Each piece is taken from my personal journal and will inspire, motivate, and enlighten the reader. Sifting Through Sundays chronicles the inner fight we all have with our mind, heart, and soul -- our challenge and fight to hold on to our personal beliefs, morals, and convictions and all that we've been taught about faith and endurance, while experiencing wellness, disease, poverty, prosperity, success, and failure. It is a book of self-discovery and hope that will inspire readers to hold onto their personal convictions, Godly principles, morals, values, and faith, no matter what life may or may not bring their way.
