The Darkness Within

Nothing is as dangerous as a government bureau or agency spurned. Assassination may not stop with only her character. Dr. Meiling Chen-Adams was threatened with prison for practicing without a license and accused of killing people in Africa with her monoclonal antibodies. Then bureaucrats came after Meiling with a vengeance after the president chose her to provide the medical treatments for, and management of, the U.S. Marburg Pandemic response. With every success by Meiling’s team working from Dr. Pierce’s biosafety lab in Colorado, the attempts to take her down intensify—character assassination to legal assassination to literal assassination. Can the security team at the lab, plus the president’s resources, protect her and her team? Will her friends and co-workers be collateral damage? Are circumstances ever so evil that good must step aside and let evil prevail? Set in Colorado, Utah, D.C., The Central African Republic, and New York City, The Darkness Beyond is a clean medical thriller with political intrigue and military conflict—an epic battle between good and evil, between light and the darkness within the nation.
