It is against that background that Garould and Ernest discover their own strengths and weaknesses; Amelia re-assesses her future and relationships and the three discover the passions and emotions of adult life. Oh yes, the youngest Albert adopts a tiger cub, which also becomes a focal point of opposing factions. All this and 'The Regiment', the icon of the British Army of the Raj, is taking the long march to their rescue - and the Russians!
