Carrie On
This is the story of Carrie—a true survivor. Although she has been through more challenges than most would experience in many lifetimes, she always comes through them using her innate ingenuity and grit. These challenges included watching her youngest brother survive a life-threatening accident, abusive relationships, financial hardship, doubts about her ability to attract the right life partner, raising a seriously disabled child and a battle with leukemia that led to a bone marrow transplant.
Through it all, there were moments of triumph as well, Carrie was never afraid to try anything—even if she had never done it before—and she usually succeeded. She achieved her dream of becoming a mom and raised generous, kind and successful children. She went after the jobs she wanted and was always extremely successful once she landed them.
It has taken a lifetime, but with the help of her soulmate—her third husband, Joe—Carrie has overcome her fear of happiness and is ready to enjoy the rest of her life with him. In return, she stood by Joe as he recovered from child abuse and substance abuse.
This book contains many of Carrie's childhood memories and adult history. Sometimes disturbing, but also joyful, Carrie bares her soul in this memoir of unrelenting honesty. From moments of self-doubt to inconvenient farts, Carrie tells it like it was. Join Carrie on her life journey and find out what is next for her and her beloved husband as she continues to Carrie On!
