The House Sitter
Author Brad Johnson, haunted by a troubled past and disturbed by his own thought process, has developed a unique writing method - he haunts things. He studies an object, reflects upon it in an uncanny way, and then - presto! He writes a creepy story about the target of his haunting. The problem is - these things then haunt him in return. Down on his luck, Brad has been invited to stay at his friend Clay McDermont's house as a paid house sitter while he and his family are away on vacation. The McDermont home is filled with strange antiques and other mysterious things that inspire Brad. Brad goes to work writing three novellas, unleashing "his ghosts" upon the things around him. These things, possessed with Brad's unsettled spirit, begin to take on a life of their own. The music box chimes, people in portraits shift their eyes, and someone or something seems to be watching him. Trying his best not to go mad, Brad continues writing as the house because more and more haunted.
