Fight Wizard - Book One of The Curse of the Old One

In a world of demons, gods, giant bears, and talking alcoholic horses, Skyrne is a young man sent to the Ancien Savoir Academy - a school of magic and wizardry. Therein, students learn to master the Flow. It should run like a cool mountain stream. However, Skyrne is bad at magic. He's one of the worst students in the academy. Ultimately, it's for the best because black-armored men invade. Although the school is renowned for imparting magical expertise to its students, ringing steel and flying crossbow bolts still overwhelmed them. Blood flooded the halls. Death floated through the air. Skyrne managed to escape. Drenched in blood and feeling like a coward, Skyrne runs into the mountains while his classmates are murdered. Skyrne has hidden from the world for three years but can't hide from the giant bear. Constantly pursued, Skyrne has improved his magical abilities, but it's a perversion of the Flow. It physically hurts him to use it. It's a foul thing. It's a bastardization of the Flow. And, it's exactly what the Old One desires. The Old One has designs on Skyrne, but Skyrne wants to be a good man. He wants to be a hero. However, the Old One wants Skyrne to be something else - something with claws, fangs, and tentacles. This book is a blood-soaked, bat-shit crazy, beat-the-brains-out-of-everyone bombshell of a fantasy novel. If you like The Witcher... If you like The Name of the Wind... If you like The Dark Tower...
