Inside ADHD With Penelope Parmalee
A journey inside the mind of Inattentive type ADHD. What it can look like on the outside and what's going on inside. This is a story about a little girl explaining what it is like growing up with ADHD. It points out how the traits are often viewed negatively when misunderstood and Penelope explains some positive points. This book helps both children and adults understand ADHD. There are facts pages in the back with info provided by a licensed therapist and the author who also has a psych background. Both of whom have ADHD. Neurodivergence is often misunderstood due to stereotypes based on myths and out of date information. This book is meant to clear up some of that. Often neurodivergent characters are written by neurotypical people. Therefore they are written from a neurotypical perspective and based on stereotypes. This is a neurodivergent character written by and from the perspective of an actual neurodivergent person. The hope is that this makes the story relatable for neurodivergent kids.
