The 'Fella' in the Cellar
Another charming storybook, from Gilly Goodwin, to read with young children this Christmas. This is a rhyming story ... easy to read out loud, with some delightful pictures - full of colour and character.
Sam and his shy younger sister 'Peeps' - discover a welcome visitor in their cellar when they are sent on a mission to find some Christmas decorations.
Their disbelieving mother - Mrs. Oldfield - is too busy preparing for Christmas, so the children look after the 'fella', secretly provide him with food and help him to return to the roof to wait for Rudolph. On Christmas Eve, the 'fella' comes back for his mince pie and a small glass of sherry, and the family all have a really good Christmas which not even 'Grumpy Grandad' can spoil!
After Christmas - their mother is insistent that the children write their thank you letters while she is busy packing all the Christmas decorations away - but it seems that the 'fella' has left his own thank you letter ... written in the dust!
A story to make you smile - but don't forget to write your thank you letters!
