Doh Jumbie Me: The Spirit of Folkore Never Dies...
Tucked away in the remote village of Quito Quito, home to Trinidad's biggest macos, are stories of yesteryear- stories that make children shudder when they misbehave, stories that are more than superstitions. Guarded by the obeah man- the most feared man across the twin- island, La Garou- the characters become alive at night, when the village sleeps. As the town bustles with the influx of settlers from far and wide, more people stumble across its strange customs. But those are not all they encounter. As time passes, the creatures that go bump in the night, are revealed- not to all, but a few- the lucky... or unlucky ones. The ones who listen for Lagahoo as he drags his chain at night, Papa Bois as he gallops with his swift legs, Mama D'Leau as she mesmerizes with her melodies, a mystical visitor with peculiar lyrics and a penchant for trouble; or those who fixate on the hypnotic La Diablesse or catch a glimpse of the fleeting jumbies...
Laugh, reminisce, experience again or for the first time, the spirit of folklore that never dies…
