The Intruder
Strangers rarely come to Skirlston now. The motorway rushes past to the Lake District, the railway's closed, and even the sea has left, except when the spring tides come in. And there's something uncomfortable about this stranger, who meets sixteen-year-old Arnold Haithwaite on the sands and says he's Arnold Haitwaite. He seems to be able to make people do what he wants - and what he wants is to move into Arnold's house and take it over.
