<div>Reread: August 21, 2026 This book is just as gut wrenching as it was the first time I read it. The way the alliance formed wasn’t what I expected. It’s adorable how Haymitch warns some of the newcomers that he’s going to act rude on camera but that they’re all safe with him. I can’t believe what they did to Mags and Wiress! That ending was heartbreaking. I’ll never forgive Snow. Read: March 22, 2025 All Haymitch wants to do is help out his mom and brother and spend time with his true love. All of that gets taken away when he's sent into the Hunger Games. How do you live your life normally after being thrown into an arena to fight for your life? My poor Haymitch. This is so unbelievably sad and heartbreaking. All the things Haymitch had to go through during and after the reaping is cruel. I want to jump into this story and just hold Haymitch while he cries. He deserves that. I will forever hate President Snow.</div>
