Roan Bernard is living her normal life in Beech Mountain, North Carolina. She’s slowly recovering from what happened eight months ago, when her and her two friends Sadee Thompson and Âkir Owen went on a hunt to find her missing family. She’s making new friends. A lot, in fact, and is trying to her best ability to keep them safe from harm’s way.Just as Roan thinks things are finally going to be normal for her, she gets attacked by a man who serves Kaska, who tells her that she has returned, and this time, she is out for blood. Now Roan has a new mission; keeping her close friend Nico Foster safe. For if she were to capture him, it would not end well for Nico. She wants the throne back, and the only way to get it is to kill him, who is the new king of the forest.To keep her friends safe, Roan turns herself in, trying to get as many details about Kaska’s plan as she can. With the help of four strangers along the way, she is able to figure out what she has to do to keep everyone protected. The only tricky part now is escaping, and getting back to Nico and her other friends before it’s too late.
