Our MC is a woman named Macie Mullins. She is a down on her luck, hardly any ambition and very sad. Dealing with the loss of her father ( 2 years ago ). While looking at the classifies. She applies for a caregiving job. A job that pays $9000 for a 3 day stay to take care of a house. Follow the Rites.. But there’s more to it than what she is told. Like a game of survival she has to do tasks. If she fails.. well let’s say you don’t want her to. Macy is one of the most saddest characters I read. Her sister Gemma/Jemma is kind of fun, but we only get to meet her through texts. What Macy has to do around the house is tedious, sometimes awful but it’s for a good cause. But she is a quitter. I can’t say that I loved this book. But I don’t hate it either. The story is slow at first. Then a rush of adrenaline. And poof, an ending that left more questions. Cliffhanger. I guess. So I gave it a 3.5⭐️
