Hemlock
Hemlock is a novel about terrorism. There are recognised terrorists - the Hemlock urban guerilla group running against an increasingly autocratic and frightened Australian establishment. There is offivial, approved terror: men and women with guns, tanks and jet aircraft; and it's midwife, the media with their television cameras and newspapers. There is the spontaneous terror of a group of schoolchildren and their teachers caught up in the manhunt. There is the terror and violence which is latent with all of us.
