The Help
In Jackson, Mississippi, in 1962, there are lines that are not crossed. With the civil rights movement exploding all around them, three women start a movement of their own, forever changing a town and the way women--black and white, mothers and daughters--view one another.

Ratings and reviews
This wasn’t a masterpiece, but it sure does give you a look at how people of color were treated in the past and what a lot of people still deal with today! I had watched the movie years ago, and read the book as well, this is my second time. As the book is told in multiple perspectives of a while woman and two black women with different lives but with powerful statements, to be made. I loved the characters and the story was really well put together. I do know about the lawsuit the author had against her. But I really can’t rate this a low rating because I did enjoy it.
