The Awakening: An Origin Story A Supernatural Urban Fantasy Series Set Before the Apocalypse

The superpowers of Shatter Me and The X-Men meet the devastated world of The Walking Dead in author Jessaca Willis' debut post-apocalyptic supernatural series.

Mara is not your average college student. She has supernatural abilities. She's one of the Awakened.

With just a touch of her hand, Mara can make anyone do whatever she wants them to.

But in a world where mankind doesn't understand or accept people like her, Mara chooses to conceal her magic, protecting herself from those who might harm her.

Until today.

When Mara's school is attacked by anti-Awakened radicals determined to eradicate people "like her" from existence, Mara finds herself caught in the middle of the chaos and forced to decide whether she will ignore her Awakened identity or embrace it.

★★★★★ "A not-so-average day at college that turns into a battle for survival."

★★★★★ "Surgically precise expositions, behemothic conflict, and high-pressure plot with shocking surprises"

The Awakening is a short story teaser/prequel to the diverse post-apocalyptic supernatural adventure book, Blood Awakens. Fans of The X-Men, The Young Elites, Year One, The Walking Dead, and Shatter Me will devour Jessaca Willis' debut superpowered series.
