Clown

CLOWN, a new novel by the former Magic Tree House illustrator, is thought-provoking, as well as entertaining. Contemporary life, and medieval fantasy, are brought together in this story of a retired illustrator who is writing and illustrating his dream project. It is a tale of a complicated and, somewhat bitter man, who finds meaning in his life, along with his cast of characters, as he writes the final volume of his magnum opus, a satire called The Clowns of Wrath. While he sleeps, he is visited by, and drawn into the lives of, knights, kings, witches, wizards, a dragon named Theresa, and a cast of clowns. His involvement in this project takes over almost every aspect of his life, as he relives his past, and discusses the meaning of art in relation to the modern world, as he sees it.
