Picking Daisy (Heroes in Hardhats)

Jamie Devons works in the family excavation business with his brothers, Tuck and Daire. He likes his job well enough, but his heart lies somewhere else. If he hadn’t been schooled in pragmatism from the time he could walk, he might have followed his passion. But it really isn’t an option any more. With the amount of hours he spends driving heavy equipment, he only dabbles at sculpting when he has a small amount of free time. His passion has been relegated to hobby status. It shouldn’t matter. Nobody thinks he’s any good, anyway. At least that was the case. Now there’s someone telling him he has talent. Is she speaking the truth, or is she just stroking his ego because she’s attracted to him? Daisy O’Dessop should be pumped. She’s been hired for the job of her dreams and has met the man of her fantasies all in one day. How could things go wrong? Well, someone could be trying to scare her out of Boston. And the guy who checks almost all of her boxes seems far too domineering. Not cool. In the bedroom, that’s fine, but in everyday life, the macho stuff doesn’t cut it for Daisy. Until she finds out the reason for Jamie’s posturing. At least she thinks his attitude has to do with his unrequited, artistic soul. Can she trust herself to get closer and find out? Can she trust her heart not to get completely involved?
