It really was quite simple. Move to a new town, settle Alfie into full time school, and forget. Forget the trauma and ignore the ghosts of the past. Ghosts of previous lives and deeds of a forgotten person.

But life isn’t that simple, is it?

Nicole is settling into a quiet life with her young son Alfie, in the middling town of Twynesham in rural Norfolk, when she finds herself in need of a modest income. Nicole needs to do what she must to keep their new life on track, and remain secret.

Torn between the need to hide and the necessity to survive, Nicole takes a job at the local library. But it isn’t long before those ghosts of the past begin to shatter her carefully crafted world.
