Dex as the oldest of the family he has been the sole one in charge of his family since the age of nineteen. His responsibilities are great, and he comes to realise he is tired and lonely with not a lot of free time for himself. His brothers let him know they need to hire another vet for their ranch and the surrounding farms as their current one has decided to quit. When his younger brother alludes to knowing someone suitable, he tells them to get on with it and not to bother him with information on the new hire.Reggie has been by herself for a long time.
