The Mistake
In this adventure-thriller story, a Dutch diplomat works at the Dutch Embassy in Paramaribo and is friends with a famous American saxophonist. They come in contact with a casino boss, who appears to have a cocaine lab in the jungle. He refines the raw coke into pure cocaine. The diplomat goes with his American friend to smuggle drugs. The whole situation escalates into threats and degraded and an attempted kidnapping. In short, a story with few gruesome murders and a failed police force. A shocking, tragic and cynical story based on the reality in the South American rainforest. Arie E. Mudde (Rotterdam 1949) worked before his retirement as a detective for forty years at the Rotterdam police. After that career, he started writing after being inspired by his years of investigation and autobiographical events during that period. He debuted in 2011 as an author with his book, File; through real-life incidents he gives a glimpse into the world of national- and international investigations.
