Fre Mujer

J. B. Darby

Throughout the process of putting together this book, I realized that was the moment to myself admitting to the many various stages of becoming who I am today. Whether it be premature decisions, being the toxic person in someone else’s life, being fearless, depressed, being sexy, experimenting, or an intellectual being. Those were all parts of me. As far as the duration of writing the material of this book I wanted everything to be authentic meaning writing in that present moment, so I would say it took about ten years of experience. Never would I have ever thought about putting my poems and journal entries into an actual body of work. I just knew I enjoyed writing as a fellow creative should have. Its apart of my truth and I felt it was time to share it with the world. How I came up with the name of the book “Fre Mujer”, I had to really think about what this book was, what I was for the most part. Then it came to me, I Am A Free Women. The “Fre” in the title comes from an abbreviated version of my stage name “Jay JFRE and/or JFRE”. The “Mujer” in the title means “woman” in Spanish. So together it means Free Woman. Not only did I want to celebrate the freedom in myself as a growing woman, I wanted to acknowledge and celebrate women all over the world. Whether they are free or not they are still beautiful and powerful. This book is a light read and I truly hope you enjoy and digest the different parts of this book.
