Halfling Farm
Halflings are stupid animals that need cruelty to make them act. This discovery led to a film genre and an interest in the species that was previously limited to how they taste. Most halflings are still grown for their meat, but a small number become film stars before being turned into sausages. Not everyone is happy with this outcome, however. Thorsten McPhurson cannot change the status quo, so decides to make a defiant gesture. He tries to steal a herd of farmed halflings and release them into the wilderness. What follows is a comic journey of discovery. Halfling Farm is a satire of New Zealand and how we treat farm animals. Also by Henry Cairns: Australian Zombie (2012); A Satan Comes to Sydney (2014)
