The Host

D. Ormsby

Philip McNally was a brilliant technician at Faulty Electronics. He was often ridiculed by some of his coworkers for being a nerd and a neat freak. Yes, Phil wore his bow tie to bed every night. In spite of the mockery, he was living his life, contented, until a fatal accident changed everything. Phil was having problems putting the trauma of the accident behind him. He was in bed, tormented, when Shawn's spirit first spoke to him. The voice identified itself to Phil as the guy he ran over at the intersection. Somehow, Shawn was able to convince Phil that because he was the one who caused his death, that there was a way in which he could borrow his body. All Phil had to do was approve the takeover and go to sleep. Phil must have thought he was dreaming when he consented to Shawn's ungodly request.Once in charge of Phil's body, Shawn made his true intentions known. With a new lease on life, his challenge now was to convince his old partners in crime to assist him with a mission, an unscrupulous lifelong dream. However, a greater challenge was staying awake. Shawn knew that Phil would be following him around. The moment he fell asleep, Phil would waste no time in retaking his body.
