The Witch's Last Wish

David Gaslin

There are many old country dirt roads that very few people travel today. One of these leads out to a swampy marsh where the road splits and goes down each side of the marsh. Out here, there are only two houses, one on each side of the marsh. On one side, in an old shack, lives Whisper, a young girl, and her grandmother. On the other side of the marsh, and too far to walk to, lives Whisper's best friend Emily, her single mother Shirley, and Emily's little dog Muffin. It's a very quiet and peaceful scene, but all is not as it seems. In the dark and murky water between the two houses swims a large alligator named "Ol One Eye" who continues to quietly cruise the water, seeking vengeance for the one who blinded his one eye. At least one of these people, and probably more, is a witch. Her "last wish" is coming up. What does that mean and what will she wish for? Also, with all the magic going on, is it just coincidence that these two families live out here...or is there more to that story? -- Amazon.
