Literary Gleanings: Poems on Authors and Books
Robert Hamblin had a distinguished career of more than fifty years as a teacher of literature and writing. In this wide-ranging collection of poems, he presents both personal reflections and keen critical insights on books and authors that he has especially admired—from Cervantes to Jesmyn Ward, from Shakespeare to Billy Collins. Literary Gleanings draws upon a long life greatly enriched by a love of reading and demonstrates the exceptional value of literature, both as entertainment and as a serious examination of the human condition.
